What Is Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition in which the cells that produce skin pigment are attacked and destroyed. It is a chronic autoimmune condition in which patches of depigmentation develop on the body due to melanocyte death or dysfunction.

Melanocytes are cells found in the bottom layer of your epidermis (the top layer of your skin), called the stratum germinativum, that produce the pigment that gives skin color.

When these cells stop working, the area where they were located becomes depigmented—that is, it loses its natural coloring and becomes (usually) white.

The patches can be small or cover a large area of the body. The condition can affect any part of the body, including eyes, hair, and mucous membranes. In rare cases, it can also cause depigmentation of internal organs such as the heart or kidneys.

This form of depigmentation may not be permanent; however there is no cure for this condition yet so you will have to experience treatments until you get rid of it completely or at least reduce its severity.

Vitiligo affects 1% to 2% of the world's population; it's most common in people between ages 20-40 years old and affects both men and women equally.

What Causes Vitiligo?

The exact cause of vitiligo is unknown, but it may be related to a genetic susceptibility in combination with environmental triggers.

Blistering sunburns and stress may trigger the condition in some people, as may exposure to industrial chemicals.

Extreme stress and trauma during childhood has also been identified as a factor in vitiligo and other autoimmune conditions. Trauma therapy such as EMDR can help resolve childhood trauma in a short amount of time.

The condition generally occurs first on exposed areas such as the hands, face and neck.

How To Treat Vitiligo

There are many treatments available for vitiligo, including creams containing steroid hormones or skin grafts that can help restore pigmentation to affected areas.

Vitiligo can be very stressful on those dealing with it; however, there are natural remedies, such as using raw organic honey, that may help reduce symptoms without side effects.

Is There Any Scientific Research On The Effect Of Raw Organic Honey On Vitiligo?

A study published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment found raw organic honey to be an effective remedy for vitiligo. The researchers who conducted this study were from China, which is where many natural remedies originate.

Twenty-four patients with vitiligo were given 2 grams of raw organic honey every day for six months, and their skin condition was evaluated at the beginning and end of that time period.

At the end of six months, 55% saw an improvement in their pigmentation compared to when they started taking the honey supplement.

Why Is It Important To Treat Vitiligo?

Melanocytes produce a protein called melanin that gives color to your skin, hair and eyes. Melanin protects against daily exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight or artificial light sources like tanning beds or sun lamps by absorbing harmful ultraviolet rays before they can damage DNA and other essential molecules inside cells.

People with vitiligo may have a higher risk of developing other autoimmune diseases like thyroiditis, alopecia areata (hair loss), Graves' disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. They may also be more likely to develop diabetes mellitus type 1 later in life because they have an increased risk of developing atopic dermatitis during childhood which is one of the major predisposing factors for type 1 diabetes mellitus.

How Do You Use Raw Organic Honey To Relieve Symptoms Of Vitiligo

Add a teaspoon of our naturally antibiotic 20+ ACTIVE Raw Organic Coffee Bean Honey From Mexico to a glass of warm (not hot) water and drink it on an empty stomach half an hour before breakfast.

Drink twice more, 30 minutes before lunch and 30 minutes before dinner. So a total of three times per day.

Water activates the nutrients of raw organic honey and the 30 minutes allows the body to absorb it before anything else enters the body.

Only use real honey, not fake honey:

Remember that the honey you use must be real honey. Commercially processed cheap honey such as that found in supermarkets has lost most of its properties. It is no better than sugar in water.

Only use raw organic honey. Raw means the honey is unpasteurised and has not been heat treated. Organic means the honey is independently certified to be free of chemicals and antibiotics harmful to humans.
